Our school utilises social coaching, as being happy and confident in our place makes us ready and able to learn and succeed.
Tui Room Teacher - Emily-Rose Longstaff
I have just joined the teaching team at Ratapiko School in Term 1, 2022.
I am a Taranaki girl and have come to Ratapiko after completing my teacher training.
I love dance and look forward to all the new opportunities to come. I love being creative and including arts, crafts, music and drama in learning and teaching. These curriculum areas are a passion of mine as it is important for ākonga to practice imagination and experiment as they invent new ways to create.
Office Administrator - Jan Callender
I have worked at Ratapiko School for a while now and love the community and the children.
I work Monday - Thursday and have many roles, from the office to teacher aid and sometimes even the gardener.
Principal Release - Georgie Pullins
I am the Principal Release teacher at Ratapiko. I am working with Kiwi Room (Thursday and Friday) most weeks unless there's a change of plan.
I love teaching and moved into this wonderful community over a year ago now.
We are on a learning journey developing our student agency and use of the new Digital Curriculum.
Teacher Aide - Kylee Hamill
I am a teacher aide supporting learners in the Robin Room. I joined Ratapiko School at the beginning of 2022 and have been teacher aiding for about 18 months.
I love working with tamariki, creating and sharing in their learning. I have a passion for crafts, baking and love puppies and kittens!
Release Teacher - Barbara Gibbons
I am the release teacher for Robin Room on a Wednesday.
I am an experienced teacher working across a number of schools, I live locally in Kaimata and love my day here at Ratapiko School.
