Additional Information
Learning Opportunities Offered at Ratapiko School
Sessions for Four and a Half Year Old's.
We offer transition opportunities for two terms leading up to the child's fifth birthday. They visit for different parts of the day so they can see what happens at Ratapiko School. Our aim is to build relationships and an understanding of how the classroom works so the first day at school is more familiar to the child.
Curriculum afternoons
We are utilise the afternoon slots to immerse ourselves in the wider curriculum areas and continue our environmental projects.
Puke Ariki Mobile Classroom
This visits the school every fortnight. The students are encouraged to have their own library card so they can issue and return their own library books.
Tech
All year seven and eight students attend classes at Inglewood High School once a week for this. A free bus is provided for students to attend.
Sports
The students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of skills and technique based learning. We participate in swimming, rippa rugby, soccer, cross-country running and athletics with and against students from other schools within the Kāhui Ako Inglewood Cluster. We also have a large number who participate in Netball, Basketball, Hockey, League and Rugby on Saturdays.
